"Brightly colored, minimal abstract forms from clay suggest interaction between positive and negative space, evoking feelings of calm and serenity. Showing the work in series emphasize the interaction between the objects. Careful placement of multiple, simple, abstract forms create the space between the objects as deliberately as the objects themselves. Drawing from sources of traditional Korean design, the work reimagines the symmetry of traditional Korean pottery as a less perfectly balanced form through my own contemporary lens."
