The touch of soft material has always been calming to me. In my work, I often respond to objects by pairing them with fluffy or soft materials, making them seem more gentle than they are. My soft sculptures deal with themes of collection and excess, drawing inspiration from my everyday surroundings. Membranes of faux fur and silk lend a sense of organized structure and comfortable softness, even when the contents within seem to overflow and overwhelm. Organizing familiar clutter into cohesive objects, I try to idealize and uplift messes, allowing them to transform into beautiful structures.
