I work with earthenware to create lively representations of places I’ve been, places I want to go, and places that don’t exist. A place can be something spectacular or something unimpressive but in either situation its important to be there. Whether it is the experience of hiking a mountain or doing absolutely nothing with friends but enjoying their company, it all relates. The interactions people have with each other in the environment around them formally have a strong relationship with line and volume. With every line in these environments theres a volume that shares a personal relationship, like people. I personify my surroundings so as to explore the intersections between humanity and the landscape.
