BFA, Craft & Material Studies, 2016

As an artist, I like to work with a variety of media and am currently working with metal, stone, and wood. Artwork can be used as a tool to process inner thoughts and stir emotion within both the artist and the viewer. Following a method of self discovery and personal fulfillment, I push my boundaries as an artist conceptually and through my technical ability. Currently, the focus is samsara- the cycle of birth, life, death, and reincarnation. This concept is being handled in wood and metal. Wood, a previously living material encompasses all that is not alive. Metal, cold and non-living, welcomes and shelters the living material tucked inside of it.
